eating locavorously = happymaking

i can't always tell who is better at coercing people to do what we want -- myself or b.e.t. either way, we (a bunch of college friends) convened at b.e.t.'s house this morning for breakfast (at his behest) but we ate a farmer's market breakfast (at my behest). and it was great!

on the menu:
brioche french toast with berry jam
sausages (kielbasa and chicken garlic)
pastries (danishes and croissants)
orange juice or apple cider

and the great part is -- probably 95% of our meal came from the farmer's market this morning! barbara kingsolver -- be proud of us! we supported local business and ate locally and freshmakingly! we bought the brioche and pastries from the nicest guys (best almond croissants EVER), orange juice from the orange guy, apple cider (freshly pressed yesterday!) from one of the apple guys, berry syrup from another farm, eggs (for french toast) from the egg guy, and sausages from the sausage guy. it wasn't necessarily the healthiest breakfast ever, but it felt great to be all foodie- and food-conscious and sharing one of my happymaking places with old friends. SIGH. so much foodcontentness. and GEEZ the sausages were tasty.
