momentarily crushed

when i told my nicestbosslady about blasto, i was over the moon when she told me that she thought it'd be appropriate for me to stay home after blasto comes and not to return until the fall.  i went home dancing, dreaming of joining the baylight brigade mall troll until august.

too soon.  nicestbosslady called me back in today to say she felt bad but she wasn't entirely sure if what she told me was true, and advised me to call hr asap.

i am crushed.  the hr lady told me that as a new employee, i am not eligible for family medical leave, and that i will have to duly drag my ass back into work 6 weeks after blasto comes.  which means ... we will have income, but honey will get way more blasto time than me.  very very sad.
