can't get enough ...

... FOOD BOX!  i started looking up other CSA programs (looking for one that will also send me delicious, farm-fresh eggs) but then i got my food box yesterday and as jieun would say, it "hoaxed" me back.

summer is so ON, people.  i got a whole lotta produce, all of which makes me happy.  crispy green beans, red, red potatoes, sniffy peaches, yummy cherrries -- huzzah!  and because the apricots were a little squishy (one had a undesirable squiggly resident inside) ... i called upon the creamy powers of david lebovitz and his new book "the pefect scoop" to make apricot ice cream.  i just had some.  the whole heavy cream thing maybe a little too rich for me.  but ....

6 years ago, some lovely ladies indulged my fad want of the time to buy me a cuisinart ice cream maker, all the rage that season.  there have been the occasional rib ever since about how it never gets used (failed attempt at green tea ice cream was SO offputting) and the more frequent complaint of ALL my roommates (current and final one included) of how the damn ice cream bowl just takes up space in the freezer.  but given last night's successful run with apricot ice cream (the book is really straight forward, if you're not making custard-style french ice cream) ... i think this summer may be ...

there were some other sorbet and sherbets that i am most interested in.  and while no ice cream made with freaking blue cheese will ever crosh this threshhold, i know all you good people out there would love nothing more than a yummy, frosty mocha treat.  you can be the judge.  will honey's scharffenberger mocha freddo beat out my as-yet-unmade mocha freeze?
