my thoughts on food
honey says i've become a foodie. i only half agree, because it's not so much that i have a hankering for port reductions and french goat cheese, but that i like for whatever food i eat to be GOOD. so ... good eats from the last few days:
1. chicken spezzatino, courtesy of giada
2. pizza from pizza my heart, courtesy of jeanbean
3. dumplings from queen house, courtesy of emao
4. freak brownies, courtesy of barefoot contessa
5. cranberry scones, courtesy of the cheeseboard collective
now ... bad eats
1. fonda restaurant, on solano: pretentious, overpriced, and sucked.
not too terrible, in terms of percentage. also, karena directed me to the new freezer section at target on stevens creek. gotta say, they are getting competitive! and it's very exciting for one who goes through food supplies like a hot knife through butter. sample prices:
1. eggs (doz): 79 cents! (does that scare anyone else?)
2. ben and jerry's: $2.49 every day
3. nestle toll house semi-sweet chips: $1.99, every day
4. 5 lb bag of gold medal (though i've kinda sworn it off): $1.79
5. jell-o instant vanilla pudding: $0.62
see you there.
and let's keep eating.
tonight's eats: leftover chicken stew, seared steak salad, crusty bread
