HELL. it is HOT.

we are struggling to figure out how to keep our second-floor sauna to under 90 degrees. yesterday we tried opening all the windows all day. TERRIBLE idea. this morning at 6:30 am (as we prepared to invade karen and jenie's for early morning world cup sadness) ... it was STILL like 75 degrees in the apartment with the fan going.

so today, we're trying to opposite. all the windows and curtains shut. no air circulating at all. also not working out terribly well for me, but perhaps trying to keep out the stifling air is better? it's certainly no friend to my giant hair.

on the flip side, we are doing our bit to save the environment (and laundry money) by buying a laundry rack thing and hanging our laundry out. given the heat, our laundry was dry in like 45 minutes. amazing. it's not snuggle soft, but it'll do.
