SUN! SUN! SUN!
ASTONISHED to see the sun out today. 70 degrees ... IN THE CITY. had a great day with the tsugawas at pacbell --> sbc -->at&t park. one hundred thank-you's and a thousand paper cranes to mr. jeff kai pong tang of hong kong, hong kong and the fabulous establishment of the hyatt regency, for sharing their club tickets with us so we could see the giants work their mojo on the houston astros (and also providing complementary parking)!
i love day games, and i was SO HAPPY to see the sun. it was pretty sweet hobnobbing with the high-rollers, but more than anything, i loved being there with my team, seeing the sun, eating ghetto cheap chinese dim sum from irving street and seeing my first-ever major league home run (shoutouts to moises alou). it was also the first time i've ever seen the giants win at home (in the four games i've been to), and the first time i've NOT seen barry bonds walked. he wasn't fabulous (two almost homeruns, one icky foul pop fly and one line drive to the back wall behind first base) but he wasn't terrible. and DAMN, is that man huge.
and funny thing. you know how the giants all have their theme songs for the season? well, the dude who was pitching, mike matheny, his theme song was a steven curtis chapman song. "live out loud" off the declaration album. i almost died. when ray durham's song is that hyfee (sp) song ... i mean, that was just weird. fish out of water.
and i'm very glad i saw good pitching today. shoutout to matt morris (for sealing a win for my honey's ailing fantasy team). thank the good Lord you are not suckass matt herges.
i sound like a baseball nut but i ain't. i'm mostly there for ambience, fuzzy little boys and garlic fries. i lamented that i forgot my knitting. but when people play good ball, one must holla at them.
great day Lord. muchas gracias.
