attention all knitters!

knitting arts in saratoga is having a spring sale -- everything in the store is at least 20% off and sale items are an additional 30% off. this may not seem like much to some, but let me tell you, when skeins of yarn (50 yds) run for about $20-25, 20% is helpful. every bit helps. even the buttons are on sale! i know i'm working my mojo right now, buying up yarn to make baby shoes for the burgeoning legion of babypeople at baylight.

i had the good fortune of hanging out with my ready-to-pop pregnantfriend jieun yesterday. a little shopping with jieun and baby abby in utero. my first time in a maternity store. damn, pregnantpeople clothes are sure stylin' nowadays. cuter than my clothes. and cheaper too, though hideyo pointed out that i wouldn't be able to fit into them. i also learned about the virtues of the new nursing bras. i've never seen so many buckles and attachments. power to the women. being a mom is extremely hard work. i'm pulling for the sweetchais though. they are READY.

in totally unrelated news, i purchased the most expensive kitchen gadget ever. it's not electric or anything. it's a zester. i use zest on freaking everything (ask hideyo about all the naked lemons in the fridge) and i hate have to use a planer-grater. so i've been holding out for a real zester. and i got one. for $19, courtesy of my returned merchandise gift card from williams sonoma. it is super heavy duty and german. happy wedding to me.
