best day ever

so a saturday that i was totally dreading turned out AWESOME.

my team and i had a date with the macy's clicker ... FUN, with a capital F-U. h and i don't super disagree on a lot of things where material things are concerned. today was no exception. we ran around macy's like a hot knife through butter, picking things that we liked and enjoyed and i have to say ... i love EVERYTHING that we've picked out so far. we started in my favorite area of all time -- kitchen gadgets and appliances. when i'd had my oxo fill, we moved onto cuisine art and kitchenaid happiness. we found a cool vacuum! i think some would be horrified by the lack of continuity and cohesiveness in terms of color scheme, but ... well ... it makes sense to us, i suppose. or, maybe it's just that we don't care enough to make things match. i mean, i already have a pink kitchenaid stand mixer -- very few things are going to match with that beauty of mine. highlights: finding dishes we both LOVE (stonewear rocks!) and getting the fattiest deal on pots! we found a set that made us both happy -- heavy duty and non-stick for heeday, and grippy handles and pot covers for me. it was on sale for $200 -- and today there was no tax on purchased items! and then -- and then! we got two free gifts!! an additional 12" everyday pan and a 12-qt stock pot with the pasta strainer thing inside of it. an additional $200 value -- FREE! (*disclaimer: yes, i already know everything at macy's is always on sale, but i still feel awesome about it.*) we bought them ourselves because being the good asian i am, i had to have the free stuff, and we thank heeday's generous grandpa for the hookup with the macy's gift card.

also got to spend time with friends in the city. got to get cheap dimsum at my favorite place on irving, and got to meet b.e.t.'s new woman -- whom we LOVE. we think b is going to keep b.e.t. an honest man -- or at least smack him when he needs smacking. always good to see old friends, and meet lovely new ones.

we also went to check out a reception site in los gatos -- the california cafe. it's TASTY. i'm usually the scoffer where california fusion cuisine is concerned, but i thought it was tasty and so we're going to work hard to convince the necessary naysayers to come over to the dark side and celebrate with us white people style for our wedding, as opposed to straight up chinese grub.

a full day -- and a wonderful one. lots of travelling time, so lots of good chats with my team. i love him. he is so nice to me. i'm glad he picked me for his team. ha ha. i tricked him.
