forever weekend
so much fun to be had. we start on friday, celebrating the last day of instruction (wahoo cowboy!) with my team. course, he drove through the night and got to my house at six in the morning. which means, yes, he slept through the first four periods of school (with the kids shouting "SHHHH! MISS CHIU'S BOYFRIEND IS SLEEPING ON THE COUCH!") but we celebrated our 11th month dativersary (hell, ya gotta start some time) with strawberries, garlic chicken, and cheese and crackers -- yum. thank you team, for the happy surprise. he's a friggin' awesome cook. capped off the night with a loverly fugees meeting with some tasty thai and throat-burning rum cake.
saturday. breakfast with karen, bobby, b.e.t. and team at home. banana chocolate chip pancakes. lounged until it was time for ... patty's wedding. hooray for patty and stef! and congratulations! it was great celebrating with them. fabulous music, fabulous company. all the old school baayf folks ... we were not fortunate enough to be sitting at the f.u.n. table (a la boo boo, crazy hot cowboy, shouzah, dr. janet reno pooty pootwell, cheunga bungah, chass, hooters) ... but i had the chance to gawp at dean's julia's bling. da-mn. that was a shiny piece of ice. great seeing old friends. and can i just say again exactly HOW HOT MARY WAS. f-ing a. smoking. i couldn't help staring.
to be followed with a full sunday. coffee and 2.5 pounds of rainier cherries from the farmer's market. sausage egg and cheese mcmuffin. church -- and praying and sending the asbury's off. i am so sad they're moving to pennsylvania. they were the first family that welcomed me to baylight. i love being with them, and spending time with their precious joella. i am going to miss them so much -- but i know the Lord has great things for their family. mad love to john, brea, joella, and baby peter. lunch with lgc peeps -- got to see steph and kenneth interact. too cute for words. very fun. good jokes and laughs. episode three. entirely redeeming. hate natalie portman's hair. terrible. hate hayden's hair. terrible. hate their love dialogue -- makes me swallow my own vomit. but ... despite all these things, heeday and i thought they did a nice job of tying it all together, explaining what happened to the jedi order and how darth vader came to be. you always think that he was the epitome of evil ... but really, the poor guy's just a tortured soul. very weird listening to james earl jones ask questions about padme. youth group and marge's chicken and waffles. step aside, ROSCOE. the nakamuras' hospitality is always astounding, and i was glad to spend more time getting to know heeday's people. nation's strawberry pie -- so much better than marie c's. good sharing too. i love being with my team. i hate it that he goes away. i can't wait for him to come home for the summer.
corned beef hash. so you know how some people go from restaurant to restaurant and try the same thing? like, tiramisu, for example. well, i've decided that my signature dish is corned beef hash. went with my brother and parents to stacks this morning. so far ... of the three places that i've tried this dish ... here is how they stack up to each other -- no pun intended.
3. uncle bill's, st. louis, mo
2. stacks, campbell, ca
1. country gourmet, mountain view, ca
omg. country gourmet's corned beef hash with eggs over easy is to die for. really. and i'm probably going to die.
this post is going on forever. i just need to remind myself of good times and blessings. a full weekend it has been. and blessed i am. yoda, God bless.
