lowlight
gave cp the content benchmark today. out of like 32 tests, only 6 passed, passing being 70%. we're going to be doing makeups FOREVER.
highlight
most kids got around a 50%, which is still higher than most of them have ever gotten, EVER. on any given multiple choice exam, they stop reading questions about 5 words in and wind up getting like a 20%. so i guess ... they read like 10 words in and got 30% better, so maybe this is actually a good thing? *sigh* diggin' real deep.
highlight
participated in my second battle of dawn. got to school at 6:20. that is butt early. imagine to yourself 350 freshmen piled onto a field, divided into british and germans, reenacting a world war one battle with water balloons and water guns. at 7 in the morning. mind you, officers were there by 4:30. yeah, that's right. in the morning. especially cool was the tank that the british built. huge plywood thing on wheels. very trojan horse. germans got scared. it was funny, and some of those freshmen are ridiculously tiny.
lowlight .. and highlight
this time last year, my team (who was not my team at the time), came to our battle and stayed the entire day debriefing the battle, grading my quizzes, and generally trying to help me make sense of the chaos my desk was (and still is, mind you). according to him, this was the first time boo boo got suspicious about something going on between us. well, wahoo for me, i guess she was right and i sure wished he was there with me this morning. (that would be my lowlight.) i also particularly remember this day, b/c at the end of the day, heeday and i went back to berkeley to hang out some, and then i spent time at my girl ev's, eating at zza's (YUM) and chatchatchatting as we do. it's particularly memorable to me, because as i was squirming, hemming AND hawing under her watchful eye and barrage of questions about heeday, she told me: "you know, we're not twelve any more. you CAN say you like him, you know." ahahahahaha. a woman of few words and swift insight. (remembering this would be the highlight.)
neither high nor low ... just ... zzzzzzz ...
having honors sit in rows. lecturing to them about the merits of historiography and how to write an appropriate college ID. gag me.
entirely unrelated
dude, listening to kachiu and gma pimp each other ... i want to weigh in on both of them. but i'm too tired right now ... so that'll have to keep. ladies -- i shall have my say. mark my words.
