my new english partner greg and i are trying to pimp this diversity camp to our kids called "the mosaic project." kids would be cabin leaders to a group of 5th graders from diverse backgrounds and teach them respect and conflict resolution and celebrating differences and all that good stuff.

i'm really excited about it because we invited a bunch of kids to come to the info mtg at lunch today, and the thing i loved most about it was that it wasn't all honors kids ... it was a diverse cross-section of our kids ... some who are model students and some who can't stop smoking, but all kids we believe would be great with little kids and also kids that we think would benefit from having a chance to get out of the myopic haterland that high school can be.

i hope a bunch of them go through the process. i'm especially pulling for travis and adam to go. they'd be great at it, and i'm hoping that they will have a chance to see how great they are. they have so much potential ... and i want so much for them to experience success in a million different ways.
