thanks for all those who have been praying for me. it's been a suck-o week (culminating in a kid swearing AND throwing things at me) and me almost popping another kid up the side of the head ... but all murderous impulses aside ... well, good thing Jesus got my back. and let's keep praying okay? my kids need it a lot. hell, i need it a lot. suffice it to say ... today was a less heinous day at school. it's amazing what your classroom can be like when you have the few perpetrators' collective ass suspended from your class/school. you can actually do stuff. it's amazing. shocking even. and i've actually had a few kids tell me point blank that i'm too nice. i never thought that i was a nice teacher. i'm miss chiu, the fierce enforcer, damn it! but apparently this is not the case. i need to throw more kids out of class, they say. i must give fewer chances. apparently, grace is not a concept that is useful in school. i keep thinking that if i extend a little more grace and a little more care, then kids will turn the corner and really respond, you know? but no. really, it seems (to the naked eye) that to be the big b and beat some kids down frequently and hard is the way to get things done. which i have to say ... that makes me sad. that wasn't the kind of teacher that i want to be.

on a completely separate note ...
please note that i've added a few folks onto my ohana list ... 'course if you're young or tony or sinc or any of the dudes (all five million of you) in my ltg, and you're wondering what penny's and cindy's blogs/xangas are ... you won't be getting that from me. i just wanted to add them onto my list of bff's because they are wonderful and loverly ladies.

i've also decided that i don't deserve my bcs rank. (sorry, hideyo.) bz privileges aside, there are a hell of a lot of madfunny xangas out there that beat on my currently sadfaced blog. especial shoutouts to my hot sister and to hot gina, who are hilarious yet thoughtful and brilliant orators and writers.

and that's all i have to say. now i'm going to eat dinner with the illustrious and yet so incredibly politically incorrect b.e.t.
