i did something so stupid ... (which could completely negate the fact that hideyo thinks i'm a genius. but let's let him continue to think that for a little whiles longer ...)

so you know that part in "a christmas story" when they convince the kid to stick his tongue to the metal pole when it's freezing outside? okay ... so at our spa night this past saturday (which rocked because baylight women ROCK! and mad kudos to janice for all her clever word games and cute gifts and evites) ... janice gave me the spiffiest gift. a new ice cream scoop (really shiny one) and a shaker container of ice cream topppings ... sooooo nice of her. so some college folks were over today (read: ben tao, andy and cub in action yet again) and i scooped them some ice cream ... and i love licking the spoon. i'm asian. waste not, want not.

okay ... so the reason why the ice cream scoop janice gave me is shiny is because it's METAL. and that's right. i left a bit of inside of my lip on the scoop. and gave myself a bloody lip. and i felt like a PRIZE IDIOT. really good ice cream though.

so i guess in the janice and dong tradition of being honest with each other and the people around them ... hideyo -- although you may think my mind is hot (thanks for the phrase, dave -- it's awesome!) ... i'm actually a lot like b.e.t. -- "i'm really smart but i sure do a lot of stupid things!"
