just like how jenie had to chronicle her time in the uk ... i feel like i need to do the same also for this last week of crazy.  but i think it's a good crazy, despite the fact that i put probably close to 2000 miles on my car in the said crazy week.

monday-tuesday
spent time with tuckie and meredith at the sea ranch, which apparently, is a place and isn't the name of tuckie's WONDERFUL house.  it's amazing up the coast!  nestled between bodega bay and mendocino ... it's a pretty fabulous place along hwy 1 that's got lots of wildlife, wild trees, and wild ocean.  incredibly beautiful.  i HEART ocean.  this is to say nothing of tuckie's house, which is all custom built (matching granite for floors and counters, bedframe slats matching stairwell bannister, couches match blankets and floor pillows and bathroom handtowels) ... you get the idea.  there are HUGE windows EVERWHERE so you can see sky, trees, AND ocean.  meredith and i shared a room and we talked until we fell asleep listening to the ocean.  it was a fabulous retreat.  and it was so great spending time with my two favorite grad school folks ... my supervisor and my teaching other half.  i was quite stunned with wine, sun and good friends.

wednesday
strada -- how i love thee.  for as long as i can remember (7 yrs back since frosh year at cal, oh my) ... there is ALWAYS the same chinese-dad-guy sitting there.  every morning.  latte and muffin.  unchanging.  he was there when i was there, working with greg j on soph curriculum stuff and greg says he sees him there too all the time.  SUPERPRODUCTIVE day with greg.  we've pretty much conquered the world and we're ready for the fall.  NOT.  but we have curriculum for the first unit, i think.  i also got to hang out with rocio, who's probably one of the only people/things that i care to remember from my time at the yucky school.  she's fabulous.  some day she is going to win five nobel prizes in five categories and i can say that i was her eighth grade teacher.  i also started the meet-and-greet process.  i was a little worried, but brandon and john were great ... super funny and they validated my love of sausages.  also got to spend the night with IRON.  she is superfunny.  going on and on about alpha males slinging their poo at each other.  humor my little sister could appreciate.

thursday-friday
drove down to la with my team.  saw an apt in pasadena.  hung out with my sister ... saw her new tricks.  she is a tricksy hobbit.  watch out for her feminine wiles.  VERY DANGEROUS.  spent more time at the ocean watching surfers catch some waves at the santa monica pier.  picked hideyo's brother kei up.  he's one funny kid.  very narcoleptic.  and then drove back.  elapsed time: 17 hours.  ridicumalous.  more unexpected meet-and-greets in the east bay.  drove back down to the south bay to make it on time to ltg.  i love my ltg.  it was a grown-up free zone (no bread and tiffany, nor danice and jong) ... so of course it was suggested to cut the study and go clubbing instead (TONY is the guilty party!).  we did no such thing, however, and we had a really intense discussion on the last part of the Lord's prayer.  it was the first time in a few years at least where i've led a study ... it was really neat to get back into the saddle again.  i really enjoyed myself.  i hope my ltg didn't mind me getting on my soap box too much either.  they are very gracious.  and it was awesome getting to pray for joe.  come home soon!

saturday
more meeting-and-greeting with my papa, who was his most charming self ever.  drove my papa to the airport, and then the team went to the BEACH because we HEART the ocean.  there's just something superawesome about being able to enjoy God's creation.  with the ocean, it's like you see how big it is and how it stretches as far as the eye can see ... and that is only a flick of how big our God is.  it's wonderful.  i like Jesus.  i think i HEART Him more than the ocean, seeing as how He made it.  :)  more meet-and-greets (God help us, i'm all peopled out) and then all my people coupons used up in one fell swoop at kirstin's birthday thing.  i haven't seen her for years, and i certainly didn't know her people ... but it was good to be able to love and support her on her birthday.  i surprised myself with my unusual chattiness.

poor roommates ... haven't seen them at ALL.  even though jenie came HOME!!!

sunday
pulled tomatoes like a CRAZY PERSON this morning.  (ask me for some -- there are a zillion.)saw booboo get BAPTISED.  it was WONDERFUL.  i cried like a big girl.  i've known boo (or i guess it's really the other way around) for a long long time.  since i was a seventh grader with a penchant for drama.  it's been so so so so so sooooooooo great being a part of her life and being able to share this with her ... angels were dancing fo shizzle.  also great to see the highway in action for the first time.  they certainly know how to have fun with Jesus.  saw "saved" with jimmy.  let's talk about that movie.  it was certainly interesting.  watched "the dads vs. the other guys" b-ball tourney ... the dads at my church sure have some moves ...

which brings me to right now.  i'm not budging from my house.  if you want to see me, you'll have to come here.  if you're still reading this ... i applaud you, or really, i question if you have a LIFE because this was long, drawn out, and down right BORING.  maybe work is boring or something.  i just need a record for myself ... i think this is my own version of a marathon, damnsexyeric.  i don't need to run a real one.

crazy out for the week.
