school news ...

1. kristin and i had the kids write some short stories. and they were really really weird. some kids wrote really cute stories (and then the cheese face ... ). some kids wrote really creepy stories (and then he cut himself until ... ). some wrote really boring stories (and then the soldier realized that the alien ...). some wrote really lame stories(and then i cheated on my boyfriend ... ). i didn't read any stories that were particularly compelling. it was pretty sad. scratch that ASSignment. FOREVER.

2. i'm teaching the kids how to play war games. diplomacy. mr. davey taught me how to play. dee dee and i refined the process. and now my honors kids are going crazy trying to outsmart each other. my college prep kids are like "we're going to wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin ... stoooooooooooooooop spyyyyyyyyyyyyying on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee." ... it's cute. i hope they are learning something at least. anyone interested in participating in an actual ww1 simulation?
