singapore mishaps:
1. context: we go down the road to the gim moh open air market -- it's where the best damn coffee in the world is. it's split into two parts -- half of the market is where you get all your fresh fruits, veggies, meats ... i'm talking like "the meat is still warm" kind of fresh ... and the other half is food stalls. everyone gets like 10 sq feet of space to do with as you like, and everyone specializes in one thing. like there are a couple of soymilk stalls, some economic bee hoon stalls (kind of noodles), etc. the coffee stall we always go to belongs to this old guy. we don't know what his name is, but we call him andrew. my dad goes to him all the time. and he makes the most wonderful iced coffee, and he gives it to you in a pint mug with "carlsberg lite" written on the side, and it's so so good.
anyways, for christmas dinner, we go to gim moh to have coffee and then stock up on the foods. while we're waiting for my mom ... we're sitting in the car with the doors open snoozing. my feet (in my reefs) are dangling outside. my mom comes back, and we drive off. we get home, and i realize i can't find my shoes. that is because i have left them in the parking lot at gim moh. my dad was so mad at me for being such a moron. my mom just sighed and drove me back to get them. they had tire treads on them from the next car that parked in our spot and ran them over.
2. my mom's friend auntie june lives across the street from us, and she tells us that she's got some curried crab that she wants to share with us. my mom sends me downstairs to get it from her. i put on those retarded reefs and run downstairs. it's been raining. in my parents' complex, they have marble walkways. marble + rain + reefs with no treads = fall of death. i totally fell on my face. and now i've wrenched/sprained/screwed up my right arm, which goes nicely with my alread-screwed-up left elbow.
what else can happen while i'm here?
