i have a few separate, completely unrelated things that i'd like to send into the void.
1. i'm not ashamed to admit that i am a gap groupie. they have the most AMAZING ad campaigns, and i'm dying for a long skinny scarf. every time i see a gap commercial singing that song, i swear, i want to be the really cute girl with the short hair on the bicycle? please. you know exactly whoi'm talking about. you want to be her too.
2. jenie brought over this very cool label for a new vhs tape. it is REUSABLE. remember those ghetto party favors, where it was like a piece of plastic over a piece of rubber and you could draw pictures on it, and then unstick it and reuse it for about three times before the plastic was so wrinkled and nasty that you chucked the whole thing? SAME CONCEPT. amazing.
3. WMD -- jenie and i think that it is ridiculous that even "weapons of mass destruction" gets its own acronym designation. whatever.
4. parents can be a big pile of suck. some are so nice, and others are so hideous. it's killing me that i have all these parents that piss and whine about how much hw their kid has to do every day. which in turn, is the attitude they pass onto their children, who piss and whine in class, and i just want to throw up and say "get the hell out. no one is forcing you to take honors. you're not even honors material. and there are so many nicer kids who'd benefit from your spot in this class, myself included. b/c i do not need you to roll your eyes at me you little cupcake." sigh. things that you can never say to a student. to the parent i would like to say "piss off!" it sucks when you wind up spending more time defending your work than actually doing any work. what IS that?
5. i continue to marvel at the support of the administration and staff at my school. even with the hideous parents, they've very clearly established that they have my back and i don't have to meet the shrews by myself. hooray for nice people!
6. and did you know ... you can buy overhead transparencies that you can send through an inkjet printer? astonishing. truly astonishing.
friday friday, please please please ...
